Hey guys!
First off, here's the video for the Kpop dance we're learning this week:
Not as intense as last week, right?? I love Girl's Day, and this song is a nice change from their usual super cutesy girly songs...
I have a field trip for my Cultural Heritage class tomorrow! I'll post pics, if I take any. I think we're learning about traditional tea ceremony...
Since the weather's been improving-ish, there's starting to be lovely blooms and flowers around! Remind me to go out with Kelly's super fancy camera and take pictures!! But even with the promise of warmer weather, it still rained a bit today...even looked sorta snowy at one point! sheesh.... I just wanna wear tights and shorts and short sleeves, is that too much to ask? I'll probably regret saying that once it gets disgustingly hot...
I suppose that's all for today. I don't have much energy to write. Maybe I'll make a lil video next time I don't feel like typing, ok?
I think I might be switching rooms with a friend of mine, for various reasons.
It seems like we'd just fit better with the other's roommate, cos mine tends to stay up late while I like to go to bed around midnight. My friend also wants a roommate who speaks Japanese, and whaddya know, mine does, and while I like having a japanese speaking roomie, she mostly talks to herself, not to me...and talks too fast anyway. I'll also have the room to myself in evenings because the other roomie has night classes. So, I think it'll be an interesting and good change, even I'll be a bit sad to leave this room and this roommate. I'd be moving to the International Dorm next to the dorm I'm in, and that actually might be rather nice, since the majority of my friends live there. We'll see how it all goes.
Today I also went to an offline meeting for my online Therapeutic Use of Music on Human Behavior class, and it was really interesting. We got free kimbap and coffee, and we had to tell about why we chose to take the class. I said how I wanted to relate it to my Psychology studies, and look at alternate forms of therapy, and how I'd also experienced how music can affect my mood when I listen to it or play it or sing. Told her how I'm learning how to play the piano, and I go to Noraebang sometimes :P She was like "Oh your voice is very good, you should sing" and I was thinking like "...you haven't hear me sing my voice is awful I can't sing a note to save my life, say whattt" but all I said was "Oh, no, it's not good at all haha" and she was like "well, like all things, it will get better if you practice" which is true...
Cos we have to sing a short song and record it and upload it for the next assignment for her class. Yikes! But whatever :P it'll be a fun thing to do outside my comfort zone.
And for dance class this week, we're learning this crazy thing:
Super fun, and I'm always delightfully tired and feelin' fit afterwards :P
Um.OH also the other day, this ewha student came up to me and a couple other people all like "Are you guys exchange students? Could you help me out? I'm part of the Ewha Voice, the school newspaper, and we need someone to write about their school for the Campus Abroad corner of the paper. We don't have anyone to write it and we need it by tomorrow...could one of you maybe write about your school for us?" My one friend couldn't write about her school, cos U of Hawaii had been written about already within the past 5 years, so would have been redundant. The other friend didn't think she could write something by the next day, so I volunteered. So now there's gonna be a short article about Beloit in the Ewha newspaper :) YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE PUBLICITY, BELOIT. I said very nice things about you. I may have exaggerated my enthusiasm for you though. but OH WELL (jk I love you beloit...i guess)
Aaaaand I've been in the mood for bluegrass music lately so that's what i'm listening to. HOLLA
Love you guys. PEACE.
p.s. going to Itaewon (the foreign district) tomorrow for shopping (we need nice stuff to wear out on weekends). How exciting!
Even though I was really tired and unmotivated today, I went to my
first dance class :) It's this (korean) pop choreography dance class
that's twice a week from 8:50 til 10 pm, and it's taught all in
Korean.... I only understood the words for Left and Right, and the
count-offs, but it was still fun, and great exercise.
My friend
Joanna and I signed up on the recommendation of Jasmine, who signed up a
week earlier. We came in during the second week of them learning the
choreography to Ring Ma Bell, so we had to play catch-up and didn't know
the beginning choreography at all...
We
learned a lot, and we're gonna finish up the song on Thursday. Then
we'll start a new song next week, this time by a boy band (yay!). I'm
really looking forward to getting better at dancing, at understanding
Korean, and working out more. I figure with dance two times a week, in
addition to regular gym visits, I'll be supa fit in no time ;P I
did feel pretty awkward and slightly uncomfortable though...I mean, I'm
the only white blonde girl, so I kinda stick out, plus me and Joanna
were new, and I'm not a good dancer so the instructor paid a bit more
attention to me when I got things wrong. She was really cool though, and
was fun to talk to after class. I think she liked us even though I was
not great at all >_<
And overall it made me feel better, and more relaxed and content, cos I wasn't feeling super beforehand.
OH
btw, they were showing the movie Gwanghae for the international
students, and we went and watched like, the first hour and it was REALLY
GOOD and funny and I wanna finish it someday soon, cos I couldn't
because of the dance class.
So, I'm really tired, and I need to chill, and...hm. I guess I'll leave you with that small update :) See ya'll later
