Dumplings!

Every now and then, the dorms will give us little gifts in our mailboxes, like the baked eggs for easter. Yesterday, there were some "Ugly Dumplings" waiting for us :P

They were really sticky and the bean paste was sweet and rather dry. I liked them, but they made me a bit thirsty...and then I was craving chocolate :P

I also had another day of volunteering for the kids today! They had me read a little book in English to them...but the first book they chose was The Rescuers Down Under and it was a bit long and complicated so I had to stop early, which was for the best cos they had no idea what was going on anyway. For the next group of kids (theres a lot in the class so they switched groups out), I read the 3 little pigs, and two traditional Korean stories that were translated into English. They were Padjwi and Kongjwi (a cinderella-type story), and Heungbu and Nolbu (the story teaches that if you are good and help others then you will live a happy and successful life).

So that was lots of fun :)
In other news, it's Friday, and even though some of my friend are a bit sick, i"m gonna try to go out and have fun tonight!
haha as I was typing that my friend just texted me that there's lots of hot guys in Shincheon (the part of the city right next to us)!!
Looks like I know where I'm going tonight, eh?
OK that's all for now, I'm gonna go and be young and stuff
Love you all!

mehhh+class stress+boy annoyances+concerts

I'm not exactly happy. I'm just kinda....hmph. grr. upset face.
I think I'm done registering for classes for next semester and I'm disappointed, to put it lightly. Turns out I had to drop my Japanese class to make room for a Psychology Practicum. While that should be interesting and hopefully even fun (?!), I really still wanted to take Japanese, but it's at the same time >_<
I know I can still take Japanese (3rd year) over the summer like I'm doing with 2nd semester 2nd year Japanese THIS summer....but I just kinda wanted to continue right off after summer, so I would retain it better.
Although I suppose my language retention is gonna be all wonky anyway, given that my brain will be full up on Korean when I get back and will be hella confused when it starts doing intensive Japanese work @__@
But hey, that's what makes it fun...?

OK ok i'm over it. It's probably better in the long run if I just do 3rd year over the summer anyway, since it'll be intensive and wonderful, and then I won't have to worry about memorizing vocab and grammar in addition to working on crazy psychology stuff and WHATNOT.
BUT STILL. SCREW YOU BELOIT.
And I stillll ain't sure what exactly is gonna happen next year and I'm just....not thrilled. Cos I think I'm bout to have hella work to do and I'm just....not...no
-deeeeep breath-

ok. i'm cool. Um.
Oh, I taught the kids in my volunteer class how to play hopscotch today :P and the teacher taught me the Korean version, which actually seems to make more sense haha....

Other news:
Got tickets to Teen Top concert for May, with Jasmine and Kristen. Here be Teen Top's newest hit song, to give y'all who are unfamiliar and not turned off by odd Korean boy bands a taste of what we're gonna see:
They're Jasmine's favorite, so that's mostly why we're going...I like them ok, mostly just for this song haha, but I'll honestly take any chance to meet celebrities :P

Other Other news:
Tomorrow all/most of the exchange students are going to a farm to make our own Kimchi, rice cakes, and dye traditional handkerchiefs, sooooo...that should be fun, plus (sort of) free food! I'll provide lovely pictures, I promise.

Oh...and I finally made that boy text me. :/
I don't like talking about it. Boys just make me feel upset most of the time. I think I have bad luck.
To make it short, I waited nearly a week for this boy who seemed so into me to text me, but he never did. Finally I texted him (cos I had his number too), and he didn't reply until the NEXT MORNING. And all he said was "whats your username" and "r u Jenny"

NO I'M NOT FRIKKIN JENNY
I had upset face.
So after a bit of talking I think he maaaybe remembers me more...but he damn well better remember me, I'm an unforgettable experience. he's damn lucky he even met me, the silly boy. ;P
So really mostly I feel tired and bored and undesirable and I just wanna go and dance my brains out to music so loud I forget everything else cos I'm just...sick of it. This whooole week can just go screw itself.

But everything will be better tomorrow :) Cos it just will

OK LOVE YOU BYE DON'T WORRY I'M FINE I PROMISE I'M JUST OVER-DRAMATIC FOR BLOGGING PURPOSES

Updates

Hey y'all!
first off: update on roomie stuff. I decided she IS just thinking out loud a lot, and her "crying" noises are actually 1. just the way she talks/the tone of voice japanese/korean can have sometimes, 2. they are also usually actually "excited" noises, cos I recently found out she talks to boys online a lot, and get excited about meeting them and stuff.... She's fine :P

SECOND: I'm having a good time :D We went to the Lotte department store today off Euljiro 1-ga station, and went to the YG store! (the YG store is the only place that sells merchandise for YG entertainment music groups outside of the internet) However, we soon found that the so-called "YG store" is actually...literally only two shelves in an entire department store. I made pictures.
OH but first we ate at the wonderful amazing I-wish-they-had-places-like-these-in-America Food court!!

Left to right: Mandu (fried dumplings), Sausage and Galbi hot dog wrapped in a yummy batter, Sushi/rice plate

Honey and Spicy chicken, with white sweet potato! VERY GOOD

MORE WITH THE WOMEN. WHATS WITH THAT

Side A of YG Store

Side view and Side B of YG store -__-
But it's still cool cos they were playing YG ENT. Music videos, so like, Gangnam Style, and Fantastic Baby :D AND OF COURSE I HAD TO BUY A BIGBANG HOODIE ^_^ Pics later, when I wear it...

Here's some other cool stuff we found at the mall and it's various levels:

What's that even supposed to mean?
OH I also had my first day of Volunteering! Me and some friends and a few other people from Ewha volunteered to help out at the Children's Center on campus right next to our dorms. We basically go in for an hour a week and talk to the kids in our assigned class in English, and basically play with them and are a sort of diversity exposure for them :) It was so fun, even though they thought my name was funny at first, and I had to struggle to communicate with the teachers there, since we both spoke so little of each other's languages, but we got along quite well :) I'm really looking forward to getting to know the kids more. They're about 4, the ones in my class. I really want to get better at Korean asap too (which I'm in the process of doing, through various means), so I can better understand what these adorable kids are trying to say to me, even if I can't necessarily always answer them in Korean.

Here's some pictures they drew for me:

"Saranghaeyo. Gamsahaeyo" = I love You, Thank you (Oh my God I love these kids :D)
Ummm...yes, so then I actually ended up meeting some more new friends today too! I love it when that happens! I just randomly went to a kitchen/lounge on the 2nd floor of the International Dorm, to throw away my ramen remains, and there were a couple girls in there watching tv, and I stayed and watched a little too (even though I was gonna go back downstairs and keep watching tv with Joanna) and we just started chatting, and turns out one of the girls is friends with/goes to the same school as some friends I'd met earlier :) So we all hung out later, and got soju at Warawara because we couldn't go to this interesting bar place to meet guys...But that whole bar is another story :P

ANYWAY Today was good. Cos we went to Noraebang after soju, and I'm growing to love that more and more each time :P

Love y'all!
