G Dragon Concert: in which I talk about how amazingly talented and attractive GD is

I still remember the first time I heard of G Dragon. I was in Korea club listening to the host moms talk about their kpop favorites, and Michelle mentioned that she'd been obsessed with G Dragon recently, and I thought to myself...huh, that's a cool name, and I don't really know any kpop people, I'll remember to look him up when I get back to my dorm...
And of course that led to watching the Heartbreaker MV and thinking GD was rather feminine looking but a pretty cool singer, and it just escalated from there :P Now GD's group Bigbang is my favorite Kpop group ever...
And today I finally got to see him in person

G Dragon- One of a Kind Concert
My friends and I weren't able to buy tickets online when they came out, but we decided to go to the concert on the day to try to buy tickets there and HOLLA it worked! Me an Joanna paid $120 for VIP standing room tickets near the stage and BOY WAS IT WORTH IT!
I cannot guarantee picture/video quality because 1. it was crazy as balls in there, 2. Security was on the lookout for people taking pictures so you had to be stealthy. They literally took your phone and dragged you out and didn't let you back in if they caught you. One of our friends had to leave after we'd only been there 15 minutes :(
But they didn't catch me...

We got there early, to make sure we'd get tickets, and we still had to wait for 1 and a half hours before we got in....
Those little banners all had a different promo pic of GD in his various gloriously attractive outfits and whatnot...

This video above and below is when Tablo came out (OMG) and rapped with GD!! He's also a very attractive man in person ;)

More Tablo above!! the guy in the hat, on the screen...

GD's the guy with the red hair... the blurry guy with the red hair...

backup dancer + GD in white in the back.... oops
CL's in this next one!!!

Wow you can't see a damned thing in those photos. Sorry guys. :P It was hard to take good photos while trying to hide! And he was still a bit far away, and people were jostling us....

His hair is red again, and it looked AMAZING, lemme tell ya! May I just say, if GD is a ridiculously good-looking, if somewhat feminine, attractive, hot mess of a man, he's even more so in person *swoon*

I swear, I was in full fangirl mode. but not crazy-fangirl mode. that was the other girls. not me. but FO REAL during the second part of the show he walked around the edges of the standing area and got SO FLIPPIN CLOSE and all of a sudden there he was....and there I was... not 5 feet away and DAMN he's fine, and charisma just rolls off of him and he has my heart, any day.
I can't get over it. I can't get over it. His new song is amazing too! OH MY GOD and Tablo from Epik High came to sing one of the songs, and so did CL of 2ne1, and Lee Hayi!! I'M HAVING THE BEST WEEKEND HOW IS THIS REAL LIFE? I honestly can't believe it. I'm not this lucky. I'm just amazed that I have the amazing awesome wonderful opportunity to be here, and experience all these things I never thought I'd do.

I'm definitely for sure buying the concert DVD if and when it comes out. All of the music was great, and remixed in wonderful ways, with more acoustic additions to some, and GD even DJ'd a little for a song. Hot Nuns in Church, and his outfits were, of course, outlandish and on the edge of fashion, but he pulled them off SO WELL and I was extremely jealous and in awe hahahah :P

I...have ranted enough about GD I suppose :P Now i'm even more tired than ever, and I'm glad I get to sleep in...I suppose I won't make it to an easter service tomorrow :/
HAPPY EASTER YOU GUYS!

I love you all

EDIT: I found some pictures from the concert online...here ya go:
see his giant golden dragon mic? yeah...that was crazy

By the way, his new song is Michi Go and it's really really, like i really mean it, good!

I went clubbing and may have attracted a man?!

Heyyyy so it's like...6:45 am and I just got back from clubbing in Sinsa, it was 20 bucks for access to 5 diff clubs (but we only went to 2 cos we pre-partied too long) but ANYWAY I'm like physcially sore tired but still all energy-ed up and music-y and yeah, and also I danced a lot and it was very fun. and loud. I can't hear. I'm eating cereal.
And I danced with some nice guys, and they didn't try no nasty stuff, and and and then out of nowhere this guy...this guy...we're dancing and he's nice and trying to talk to me but it's hard to hear and I think we both go to Ewha?? and he has my number now? And he even lifted me- FLIPPIN LIFTED ME UP ON THE DANCE FLOOR- multiple times! DAG! i always thought to myself no guys would be able/wanna do that cos I feel like a heavy to lift girly, but hot damn he carried me. and kissed my hand. and helped me with my coat
WHAT IS MY LIFE RIGHT NOW AM I DREAMING? so we'll see where that goes. Here's some pictures from the rest of the day. Cos we also went to Itaewon to try to buy stuff but it was all too expensive and no variety, Edae and Hongdae have the best shopping.

They gave us boiled eggs for easter. I did not eat them yet.
view down a street in itaewon. just took it cos overlooked city

subway, post-party. See the dead look in my eyes? yeah. my feet feel the same

the cute little no-shoes table at warawara, WHERE THE CUTE WAITER WAS
Um.....yeah. That's all. I'm real tired. well, maybe. I dunno. I guess. I should sleep though. it's 7.  I hope that guy texts me :P
GOOD NIGHT EVEN THOUGH IT'S UM...LIKE 5PM THERE GUYS
i love you

edit: now that i've had some sleep, I'll add that mr gentleman was even more gentlemanly because like, a lot of the dancing we did resembled some sort of semi-ballroom dancing, like, hand holding and even a dip (say whaaat--i almost fell cos i wasn't expecting it) and stuffff. uhmmm.
It's been 6 hours and my ears are still ringing >_<

OH oh my lordy gosh, Me and Joanna are also trying to go to the GDragon concert today...even though we ain't got no tickets. Cos cos cos we are trying valiantly to go there early and scavenge tickets that are extra or that people are selling. WE ARE HOPING SO BAD OMG even if we get horrid seats its still GD in concert....

Lots of updates

I think I might be switching rooms with a friend of mine, for various reasons.
It seems like we'd just fit better with the other's roommate, cos mine tends to stay up late while I like to go to bed around midnight. My friend also wants a roommate who speaks Japanese, and whaddya know, mine does, and while I like having a japanese speaking roomie, she mostly talks to herself, not to me...and talks too fast anyway. I'll also have the room to myself in evenings because the other roomie has night classes. So, I think it'll be an interesting and good change, even I'll be a bit sad to leave this room and this roommate. I'd be moving to the International Dorm next to the dorm I'm in, and that actually might be rather nice, since the majority of my friends live there. We'll see how it all goes.

Today I also went to an offline meeting for my online Therapeutic Use of Music on Human Behavior class, and it was really interesting. We got free kimbap and coffee, and we had to tell about why we chose to take the class. I said how I wanted to relate it to my Psychology studies, and look at alternate forms of therapy, and how I'd also experienced how music can affect my mood when I listen to it or play it or sing. Told her how I'm learning how to play the piano, and I go to Noraebang sometimes :P She was like "Oh your voice is very good, you should sing" and I was thinking like "...you haven't hear me sing my voice is awful I can't sing a note to save my life, say whattt" but all I said was "Oh, no, it's not good at all haha" and she was like "well, like all things, it will get better if you practice" which is true...

Cos we have to sing a short song and record it and upload it for the next assignment for her class. Yikes! But whatever :P it'll be a fun thing to do outside my comfort zone.

And for dance class this week, we're learning this crazy thing:

Super fun, and I'm always delightfully tired and feelin' fit afterwards :P

Um.OH also the other day, this ewha student came up to me and a couple other people all like "Are you guys exchange students? Could you help me out? I'm part of the Ewha Voice, the school newspaper, and we need someone to write about their school for the Campus Abroad corner of the paper. We don't have anyone to write it and we need it by tomorrow...could one of you maybe write about your school for us?" My one friend couldn't write about her school, cos U of Hawaii had been written about already within the past 5 years, so would have been redundant. The other friend didn't think she could write something by the next day, so I volunteered. So now there's gonna be a short article about Beloit in the Ewha newspaper :) YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE PUBLICITY, BELOIT. I said very nice things about you. I may have exaggerated my enthusiasm for you though. but OH WELL (jk I love you beloit...i guess)

Aaaaand I've been in the mood for bluegrass music lately so that's what i'm listening to. HOLLA

Love you guys. PEACE.
p.s. going to Itaewon (the foreign district) tomorrow for shopping (we need nice stuff to wear out on weekends). How exciting!

Mostly pictures of kpop and food in myeongdong. Also I went out partying last night.

Haven't had Caribou Coffee since it closed in Homewood~ Yum!

Fried rice w/octopus I think... only 3 bucks!

Kkalgooksu at Myeondong- noodles, stuffed dumplings and meat

BIGBANG!!!

I really wanted to take this home with me ~__~

Epik High and G-Dragon

View of Myeongdong street from the Kpop store place

 And then there's this thing.....

This is what the soap in the bathrooms in the dorms are like. When I first got here I didn't know where the soap was, and I saw this thingy, and I was like whaaaaaat but I touched it and it was soap. Its actually a really good idea cos its more sanitary and doesn't get all wet and stuff on the counter. Even though it was weird to get used to at first.
So yeah. OH update on the weekend
Me and Joanna n Jasmine went to Myeongdong today to try to catch a glimpse of Teen Top, Jasmine's favorite band, cos they were doing a fan signing. But we couldn't, cos the building's access was underground and the chicks with tickets were all crowded up in there. So sad!!! So close to seeing a celebrity :P
Aaaaand I went out with a bunch of cool people yesterday night to Hongdae, to go drinking at Beer O'Clock or something like that, where you order your drinks and food through a touch screen and they bring it to your own little room. That was super fun :) Then we went to a club and danced a lot, and went back to Ewha (and other people's respective universities) at some ungodly hour of the morning.
(P.S. Somek, beer+soju, doesn't give you a hangover :P )

Looks better but I will probably go to a salon in Itaewon next time, so I can talk with my stylist in english :P And apparently they don't have toner in Korea, so my hair is still just regular bleached :P

Updates

Hey y'all!
first off: update on roomie stuff. I decided she IS just thinking out loud a lot, and her "crying" noises are actually 1. just the way she talks/the tone of voice japanese/korean can have sometimes, 2. they are also usually actually "excited" noises, cos I recently found out she talks to boys online a lot, and get excited about meeting them and stuff.... She's fine :P

SECOND: I'm having a good time :D We went to the Lotte department store today off Euljiro 1-ga station, and went to the YG store! (the YG store is the only place that sells merchandise for YG entertainment music groups outside of the internet) However, we soon found that the so-called "YG store" is actually...literally only two shelves in an entire department store. I made pictures.
OH but first we ate at the wonderful amazing I-wish-they-had-places-like-these-in-America Food court!!

Left to right: Mandu (fried dumplings), Sausage and Galbi hot dog wrapped in a yummy batter, Sushi/rice plate

Honey and Spicy chicken, with white sweet potato! VERY GOOD

MORE WITH THE WOMEN. WHATS WITH THAT

Side A of YG Store

Side view and Side B of YG store -__-
But it's still cool cos they were playing YG ENT. Music videos, so like, Gangnam Style, and Fantastic Baby :D AND OF COURSE I HAD TO BUY A BIGBANG HOODIE ^_^ Pics later, when I wear it...

Here's some other cool stuff we found at the mall and it's various levels:

What's that even supposed to mean?
OH I also had my first day of Volunteering! Me and some friends and a few other people from Ewha volunteered to help out at the Children's Center on campus right next to our dorms. We basically go in for an hour a week and talk to the kids in our assigned class in English, and basically play with them and are a sort of diversity exposure for them :) It was so fun, even though they thought my name was funny at first, and I had to struggle to communicate with the teachers there, since we both spoke so little of each other's languages, but we got along quite well :) I'm really looking forward to getting to know the kids more. They're about 4, the ones in my class. I really want to get better at Korean asap too (which I'm in the process of doing, through various means), so I can better understand what these adorable kids are trying to say to me, even if I can't necessarily always answer them in Korean.

Here's some pictures they drew for me:

"Saranghaeyo. Gamsahaeyo" = I love You, Thank you (Oh my God I love these kids :D)
Ummm...yes, so then I actually ended up meeting some more new friends today too! I love it when that happens! I just randomly went to a kitchen/lounge on the 2nd floor of the International Dorm, to throw away my ramen remains, and there were a couple girls in there watching tv, and I stayed and watched a little too (even though I was gonna go back downstairs and keep watching tv with Joanna) and we just started chatting, and turns out one of the girls is friends with/goes to the same school as some friends I'd met earlier :) So we all hung out later, and got soju at Warawara because we couldn't go to this interesting bar place to meet guys...But that whole bar is another story :P

ANYWAY Today was good. Cos we went to Noraebang after soju, and I'm growing to love that more and more each time :P

Love y'all!
